How It Works

From Order Confirmation to Certified Delivery

Six production-focused steps — the same locked-in process every run, so part 500 meets the same standard as part one.

Step 01 — Production Planning
Your Order Is Planned — Runs, Fixtures & Cycle Times Locked In Before We Start

Before material is ordered or fixtures are built, we plan the full production run — number of cycles, setup sequence, inspection intervals, and delivery schedule. A production plan is documented and agreed before machining begins, giving you full visibility on timeline and process.

Step 02 — Material & Inventory
Bulk Certified Material Is Sourced & Staged — Traceable from the Mill

We source bulk certified material for the full production run — holding appropriate stock to cover the order without delay between batches. Heat numbers and mill certs are documented at intake and tied to the production job record for full traceability through to final delivery.

Step 03 — Setup & Fixturing
Dedicated Fixtures & Tooling Are Set — Same Setup Every Run

Production runs use dedicated fixturing built specifically for the part — eliminating setup variation between cycles. Once the fixture is set and verified on the first article, it stays locked in for the entire run. The same fixture carries forward to repeat orders, so repeat runs are faster and cheaper.

Step 04 — Production Run
Parts Run Through Our Production LineMonitored Every Cycle

With fixturing locked and material staged, the production run begins. Each part cycles through the same program — operators monitor the process throughout, checking tool wear, coolant flow, and dimensional outputs. No unattended running without operator verification.

Step 05 — In-Process Inspection
Critical Dimensions Checked Throughout the Run — Not Just at the End

We don't wait until the last part to inspect. Critical dimensions are checked at the start of the run, at defined intervals mid-run, and at final. Issues are caught and corrected while parts are still being made — not after 500 are complete. Inspection results are logged throughout.

Step 06 — Pack & Ship
Finished Parts Are Packaged, Certified & Delivered On Schedule

Completed parts are cleaned, protected, and packed for shipment — individually or bulk, depending on your spec. Every shipment includes mill certs, full inspection records, and any other documentation required by your QMS. Delivered on the date we committed to, every time.

What Our Production Clients Say About Axis

Real feedback from supply chain directors, plant managers, and QA managers running repeat production orders across Alberta.

★★★★★

"We run a production order with Axis every quarter — 200 to 400 parts per run. Consistency is exceptional. We've never had a batch come back with tolerance issues. They're our go-to machine shop in Alberta."

Supply Chain Director
Oil & Gas Equipment OEM — Calgary, AB
★★★★★

"Axis took on a 500-piece production run of 4140 steel components on a 6-week timeline. On-time delivery, full documentation, and every part within spec. Exactly what a production machining partner should be."

Plant Manager
