Axis Manufacturing goes beyond raw machining. We handle assembly, deburring, threading, surface finishing, and secondary operations in-house — delivering fully completed components that are ready to install the moment they arrive.
Six steps covering every secondary operation — so your parts arrive complete, documented, and ready to go straight onto the line.
Before any secondary work begins, we review your assembly drawing and scope of work — identifying every operation required, from deburring through to final torque. We confirm material, fastener specs, and required documentation upfront so there are no surprises at delivery.
Every machined surface is deburred and edge-broken as required by your specification. Sharp edges that could damage seals, harm assembly technicians, or cause stress concentrations in service are removed systematically. Parts emerge clean, finished, and safe to handle — not sharp off the machine.
Secondary machining operations are performed after primary machining is complete — threading, tapping, cross-drilling, counterboring, and other features that complete the part. All threads are verified with calibrated gauges. Secondary features are inspected against drawing and recorded.
Individual machined components are brought together and assembled to your drawing — pressing, bolting, threading up, and torquing to your specified values. We use calibrated torque tools and document torque values in the assembly record. Sub-assemblies are verified for fit and function before moving to final inspection.
The completed assembly is inspected against every dimensional and functional requirement on your drawing. Height, OD, ID, runout, thread engagement, and torque values are all checked and logged. A final inspection report is generated and travels with the shipment — confirming conformance before it leaves our facility.
Completed assemblies are protected, packaged, and prepared for shipment. Every delivery includes the full documentation package — mill certs, assembly records, torque values, inspection report, and any customer-specific QMS documents required. Parts arrive ready to install — no rework, no re-inspection, no delays.
Coordinating multiple suppliers for machining and assembly adds lead time, cost, and risk. Axis Manufacturing handles both — machining your components and assembling them to your specifications in the same facility, under the same quality system.
Our secondary operations capability covers deburring, threading, tapping, pressing, torquing, and sub-assembly work. Every completed assembly ships with full documentation, inspection records, and material certifications — ready to install, not ready to inspect again.
Real feedback from operations managers, engineering leads, and procurement specialists across Alberta.
"We used to source machining and assembly from two separate shops. Axis brought it all in-house and the difference was immediate — faster turnaround, one point of contact, and parts that arrived ready to go straight onto the line."
"Axis machined and assembled a set of downhole sub-components for us. Everything was torqued to spec, threaded correctly, and came with a full inspection package. Zero rework on our end. That's exactly what we pay for."
"The secondary operations work Axis does is thorough. Parts arrive deburred, finished, and clean — not sharp off the machine. It sounds basic but most shops don't do it well. Axis does. We won't go anywhere else."
